Jacinto Convit (born September 11, 1913 in Caracas is a Venezuelan physician. In 1987, he received a Prince of Asturias Award in the Scientific and Technical Research category. In 1998, he was nominated for the Nobel Prize in Medicine, for developing a vaccine to fight leprosy, by combining a tuberculosis (TB) vaccines with Mycobacterium Leprae.
On June 2010, Dr. Convit announced the successful development of a new vaccine intended to fight colon, stomach and breast cancer.
